All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed show with the September 15 episode of AEW Rampage.
Tonight, Jade Cargill will get her AEW TBS Championship rematch against Kris Statlander. Statlander returned from injury at AEW Double or Nothing in May and beat Cargill for the title in an impromptu match. Cargill had been away from the ring until the September 9 episode of AEW Collision when she attacked the champ.
This week’s Rampage will also feature plenty of tag team action as The Acclaimed will compete. Plus, The Kingdom will take on Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal, and The Lucha Bros and The Hardys will team up to take on The Butcher, The Blade, Jeff Jarrett, and Jay Lethal.
The results are as follows:
Match 1: The Hardys & Lucha Bros. defeat Jeff Jarrett, The Blade, Jay Lethal & The Butcher via pinfall
In an opening brawl of a match, it was the team of The Hardys and Lucha Bros who walked out with the win. Late in the match, The Hardys were able to flip the momentum against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal, while Rey Fenix was able to end the match by hitting a big move on The Blade for the pin and win.
After the match, Satnam Singh attacked The Hardys, while The Righteous came out and stood to taunt over them after the fact.
Backstage segment: Britt Baker
Baker was interviewed about her recent string of losses, and said that she plans to win the TBS Championship in the future, by challenging the winner of tonight’s match in the main event of Collision tomorrow night.
Match 2: The Kingdom defeats Matt Sydal & Christopher Daniels via pinfall
In a relatively quick match, The Kingdom was able to come away with the win after hitting Christopher Daniels with the Proton Pack for the pin and win. Following the match, the group took to the mic and blamed Adam Cole for the injury Roderick Strong suffered to his neck.
The group then said they plan to win the ROH Tag Team Championships from MJF and Cole.
Backstage segment: Mogul Embassy
In an interview with Renee Paquette, the group said they are still mad at Hangman and the Young Bucks, and proposed a match for next week’s Grand Slam episode to settle things.
Match 3: Daddy Ass & The Acclaimed defeat Peter Avalon & The Outrunners via pinfall
In a super quick match, The Acclaimed and their companion walked out with a quick win, ending things by hitting a finisher on Peter.
At the conclusion of the match, Dark Order made their way out to interrupt the scissoring party. They talked for a moment about the AEW Trios Championships, and went back and forth for a big. Eventually, they challenged The Acclaimed to a singles match tomorrow at AEW Collision, and if they win, they’ll get a title match.
After some back-and-forth, which included a Rock, Paper, Scissors contest to see who would be in the match, it was decided that Bowens will face Evil Uno tomorrow.
Match 4: Aussie Open defeat Lorde Crewe & Damian Chamber via pinfall
In another incredibly quick match, Aussie Open won almost instantly, hitting their finishers on both opponents before pinning them for the win.
Match 5: Kris Statlander defeats Jade Cargill via pinfall
In the main event of the night, Kris Statlander was able to retain her TBS Championship against Cargill in a thrilling finisher. The two superstars were both matching each other at every turn, but eventually, Statlander was able to flip the momentum. After overcoming some interference from Mark Sterling — who tried to help Jade win — Statlander countered a Jaded attempt into a Friday Night Fever for the pin and win.
After the match, Statlander and Cargill shook hands and hugged.
