Things were never solved between The Young Bucks and CM Punk backstage at All Elite Wrestling.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Matt and Nick Jackson were willing to sit down with CM Punk and work with him. But that would have required him to go for six months without incident in All Elite Wrestling.
But in the short time Punk had returned to the company, there were plenty of backstage issues. Various reports emerged, citing problems with names like Ryan Nemeth, Christopher Daniels, and Jack Perry. As well as a legal letter sent in regards to Being The Elite.
The legal letter sent to All Elite Wrestling alleged that certain skits violated the terms of a non-disparagement agreement between The Elite and CM Punk.
Despite still having his supporters in the company, Meltzer reports that locker room morale has gone up since Punk’s departure. Some compared it to a dark cloud over their heads being lifted and noted that the recent weekend shows were more fun.
As strained as the relationship between CM Punk and All Elite Wrestling currently appears, Meltzer believes there’s still a chance the former AEW Champion could return to the company in the future if he doesn’t return to WWE.
