Trinity Is Looking Forward To A Match Against Mickie James

Earlier this year, Trinity made her surprise debut for IMPACT Wrestling. She recently revealed that one of her dream opponents is multi-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James.

Back in May of last year Trinity, formerly known as Naomi, walked out of WWE along with Sasha Banks. The latter then signed with NJPW under the ring name Mercedes Moné. Trinity made her IMPACT Wrestling debut when she wrestled KiLynn King.

Following the victory against King, she continued her winning streak in the upcoming weeks. As a result, she earned a title shot at the Knockouts Championship. She dethroned Deonna Purrazzo at the Slammiversary pay-per-view to earn her first title in the promotion.

The reigning Knockouts Champion recently was interviewed by Sportskeeda Wrestling. During the interview, Trinity shared who is the one opponent that she is looking forward to facing in IMPACT Wrestling. It is none other than five-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James. She mentioned that while the two had shared the ring on a few occasions in the Stamford-based promotion, the duo never had a full-length feud with each other.

“The one person I look forward to being in the ring with is Mickie [James],” she told Sportskeeda. “We never really got to…we’ve touched and been in the ring in WWE but never an angle or a real feud or anything like that.”

Feel The Glow

Most of Naomi and Mickie James’ matches together were battle royals, and they also had a few early tag team matches. Naomi won the SmackDown Women’s title in a six-pack challenge (featuring James) at WrestleMania 33, but they’ve never had an actual singles match.

During the same interview, Trinity also shared her honest thoughts on Alisha Edwards. She mentioned that despite Edwards’ strategies to score victories, the former WWE Superstar does respect the fact that she is the number one contender. The two are set to face each other for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship at the Victory Road pay-per-view.
