The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) may be coming back to WWE soon, according to a new report.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that there has been talk in the last week of bringing The Authors of Pain and Paul Ellering in for some WWE appearances, most likely on NXT. Johnson wrote that he first heard the talk three weeks ago. Within the last 24 hours, there have reportedly been discussions about them potentially making appearances next month.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that, per sources, Authors of Pain have been under contract since 2022, but that aspect has not been confirmed. However, Sapp cited sources who noted that they were brought back before Vince McMahon returned. Sapp wrote that AOP were in an internal travel list back in May.
Per Sapp, AOP ensured that Ellering was involved in the negotiations.
AOP have not wrestled since WWE released them in 2020. They are former NXT and RAW Tag Team Champions.
