Awesome Kong will wrestle for the first time in over three years at IMPACT 1000.
IMPACT Wrestling announced that Kong will return to the ring at IMPACT 1000 on September 9. Kong had already been announced for the show, but her in-ring return had not been confirmed.
Kong, a two-time TNA Knockouts Champion, retired in 2021, and she was inducted into the IMPACT Hall of Fame at IMPACT Bound for Glory 2021. She had a brief run in AEW when the promotion launched in 2019, but she later left the company.
IMPACT 1000 will mark Kong’s first match since January 2020, when she competed at an AEW Dark.
Kong has a career that spans nearly 20 years. She had a brief run in WWE, and she also enjoyed a successful tenure with All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling.
