Current AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida has landed a new role in a wrestling-based audio drama.
Hikaru Shida has landed a principal role in the second season of the audio drama The Luchador: 1000 Fight of El Fuego Fuerte. Hikaru Shida is the first of several well-known names to join the ensemble of season two. Season one included Danhausen, Colt Cabana, Raven, Effy, and Luchasaurus.
Show creator Dan Valero Fletcher says, “We are incredibly excited to have Shida on board. Her inclusion in our next season indicates that the world of The Luchador is about to get a whole lot bigger.”
The series is set in a supernatural world of Lucha Libre and Mesoamerican myth and follows the story of El Fuego Fuerte, “the champion of Mexico City.”
Season two, which is set to release in the autumn of 2023, finds El Fuego and his antagonist, Lobo Sangre entering a famous lucha libre tournament, and there can be only one winner.
More cast announcements are expected in the lead-up to season two.
