Mariah May is reportedly on AEW‘s radar.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that there has been discussion within AEW about potentially working with Mariah May. May, 25, has garnered plenty of buzz, and she is currently featured in STARDOM.
Sapp noted that May had a tryout at the WWE UK Performance Center in 2019, not long after her career started, and the company has kept an eye on her ever since. Per Sapp, AEW has gained traction as a potential landing point for the UK-born wrestler.
The report emphasized that there is no word on whether May has had active talks with WWE or AEW. May signing with either company has not been confirmed. However, Sapp wrote that there is “traction” of her going to AEW.
May is highly active with Stardom in Japan. She sparked some speculation when she shut down her Big Cartel store and tweeted that she would never forget “this time” of her life while reflecting on some matches. Prior to the post, May and Mina Shirakawa lost the Goddess of Stardom Championship.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
Mariah May Talks Facing Lady Frost
In a previous interview with WrestleZone, May reflected on her match against Lady Frost. The bout marked her American debut, and she made it clear that it was a special moment.
“I think my American debut was probably a really special moment for me, because it was my American debut,” May said. “It was like my 75th match [overall] and it was against Lady Frost, who is just, oh my gosh, what a superstar. She’s such a great person and a great professional, but she’s just phenomenal in the ring [too]. So to wrestle with her in the old ECW arena with so many legends and so many great wrestlers on the card and the crowd. Wow, [they were] so into it.”
May went on to describe how she had an amazing trip in the United States.
