PROGRESS Wrestling is looking to branch into North America, and a new investment will play a big part in that.
PROGRESS Wrestling announced that they have reached an agreement with International Exchange of North America (IENA). The announcement notes that IENA is a global leader in cultural exchange programs to and from the USA.
The announcement included quotes from PROGRESS Wrestling co-owners, Lee McAteer and Martyn Best, who highlighted their plans for the growth of PROGRESS beyond the United Kingdom.
IENA CEO Matt Buczek also commented on the news, saying, “Having lived and worked in the USA for over 20 years, I’ve seen the huge popularity of WWE, and with PROGRESS having been a recent media partner of WWE which I watched on Peacock TV, it was clear that the opportunities for growth were very strong.”
Additionally, the announcement notes that the investment is “an opportunity for PROGRESS Wrestling to branch out to North America, have an office in the New York area and diversify our wrestling horizons into new territories with a core focus on North America for growth.”
PROGRESS recently announced the launch of DEMAND PROGRESS PLUS. More information is available here.
