The feud between The Miz and LA Knight continues to heat up.
On the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown, Austin Theory crashed The Grayson Waller Effect with WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio. He claimed that the title still belonged to him following his loss the previous week.
LA Knight joined the fray and expressed his interest in challenging for the gold. He then threw down the gauntlet for a match with Theory, where the winner would earn a title shot.
The Miz joined the commentary team before the match started, and he proceeded to insult Knight throughout the match. At one point, Knight threw Theory into Miz. “The A-Lister” got involved in the match, and Knight initially fought him off. In the end, The Miz distracted him again, and Theory capitalized by rolling Knight up for the win.
As a result, Theory earned a shot at the WWE United States Championship.
