Charlotte Flair has her sights set on some major matchups for WrestleMania 40.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, “The Queen” named Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Mercedes Moné as potential opponents. Regarding Moné, Flair noted that they have grown a lot since they previously faced off.
“We’ll see what WrestleMania XL brings, but you know what’s crazy?” Charlotte Flair said. “Think of how much better we are now than we were then. We’ve both grown so much, you can’t even compare it to before.”
Flair also discussed working with Belair. The two stars have been feuding in recent weeks on WWE SmackDown, and they faced off in a Triple Threat Match at SummerSlam.
There, Belair beat Flair and Asuka to win the WWE Women’s Championship before IYO SKY cashed in her Money in the Bank contract and dethroned the new champion. Flair praised Belair and expressed her confidence that she will face “The EST” at WrestleMania someday.
“Seeing Bianca handle her position as champion for so long, watching her do the interviews, the meet-and-greets, and carrying all of those responsibilities, I’m so proud of her. I know that type of pressure,” Charlotte Flair said. “She carried herself as a beautiful example of a WWE champion. And I love her competitiveness. We’re both very fiery. Whether it’s WrestleMania XL, WrestleMania 41, or WrestleMania 42, it’s going to happen.”
Moné, formerly known as Sasha Banks, left WWE and landed in NJPW. She won the IWGP Women’s Championship but later lost the title. She has been sidelined with an injury since May, and there is no word on when she will return to the ring.
