Bianca Belair looks back on losing the WWE RAW Women’s Championship.
Belair won the title by defeating Becky Lynch at WWE WrestleMania 38. She then had a historic reign, as she held the gold for over 400 days. Asuka then shocked the WWE Universe when she dethroned “The EST” at WWE Night of Champions.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Bianca Belair reflected on losing the title. She noted that it was her turn to give back.
“Look at the women who I’ve been in the ring with and what they’ve done for me,” Belair said. “It was my turn to give back.”
Belair went on to make it clear that she wanted to lift others up throughout her reign, including her final match as the champion. She stated that Asuka is pushing the division forward and expressed her hope that she moved it in the right direction.
“I want to elevate people, I want to do for others what they’ve done for me,” Belair said. “A star like Asuka is propelling the whole division forward. I hope my accomplishments helped that move in the right direction. She is extremely talented and has been doing this a lot longer than me, and I was honored to wrestle her in that match.”
After Asuka won the title, she received the new WWE Women’s Championship. Likewise, Triple H presented SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley with the Women’s World Championship.
Bianca Belair will challenge Asuka for the gold in a three-way match at includes Charlotte Flair at WWE SummerSlam. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs.
