WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo want to face some of WWE’s best teams.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, D’Angelo and Lorenzo discussed their title win. Lorenzo made it clear that they want to move up to the main roster. He stated that they want to face teams like The O.C. and The New Day.
“I think the big thing is, we both are competitive, we both drive each other, and we both have our sights set on something bigger,” Lorenzo said. “You’re talking about NXT and this brand growing. I think the thing about NXT titles now, different from the main roster titles, I think for us, main roster is more defending. They’re in defense mode. But to me, us holding these NXT Tag Team Titles puts us in defense and attack mode.
“We have our sights set on going up and talking on guys like The O.C. , taking on guys like the New Day. Obviously, we’re gonna have all these tag teams in NXT coming up and wanting to get a shot at us. But for us, our sights are set bigger.”
Tony D’Angelo And Stacks On Potential Call-Up
Tony D’Angelo and “Stacks” were also asked how they would feel about if they got called up to the main roster.
“Hey listen, I’m cool with this guy,” Lorenzo said. “Put me on a plane next to this guy, we’ll go fly to SmackDown, and then we’ll come back and work right here on NXT. I don’t hate him yet. I just told you that we’re cool. I could put up with him for now. Maybe a year down the road, I don’t know. Maybe I’ll want to just be on one show so I only have to see him one time a week. But for now, I’ll see him a couple times a week.
