Grayson Waller believes it’s easier for NXT talent to transition to the WWE main roster now.
SmackDown Superstar Grayson Waller was a recent guest on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about his call-up in the 2023 WWE Draft, Waller believes the transition is smoother now than in the past, thanks to the crossover between NXT and the main roster.
“The great thing about NXT now, and it’s going gangbusters, the ratings are through the roof for that show, is there’s more connection between NXT and the main roster,” Grayson Waller said. “You can even see it. Friday on SmackDown, Melo and Trick Williams were there. Stacks and Tony D were there. They’re implementing it onto the show. The main roster’s coming down to NXT, and the product that they’re building in NXT is what they want to then use on the main roster.”
A Smooth Transition
Waller also pointed to Pretty Deadly and Zoey Stark as recent examples of smoothly transitioning to the main roster.
“So those people who have complained in the past like, ‘Oh, I liked this, but then they brought me this,’ now it’s gonna be a much smoother transition,” Grayson Waller said. “I think I’m a great example of that. I think Pretty Deadly are a great of a great example of that, Zoey Stark. What you saw in NXT, it worked. Now, it’s gonna work on the main roster.”
