Bryan Danielson provides an injury update.
Danielson injured his arm at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, where he faced Kazuchika Okada in the main event. “The American Dragon” emerged victorious in a hard-fought bout. At the post-show press conference, he stated that he had suffered what the team believed to be a fractured forearm. His wife, Brie Garcia, later noted that the injury was worse than they first thought.
In a tweet on July 19, Danielson stated that he got surgery on his arm “about two weeks ago.” During the procedure, he had a steel rod and nine screws inserted into his arm. The AEW star wrote that the surgery went well, and he is on the road to recovery.
As of this writing, there’s no word on how long Danielson will be sidelined.
WrestleZone wishes Danielson well in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
Kazuchika Okada Teases A Rematch With Bryan Danielson
In an interview with Tokyo Sports after AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Kazuchika Okada reflected on his match with Bryan Danielson. He noted that he hoped they could have a rematch when the time was right.
“I don’t think it’s going to be a card that everyone was so excited about, and I don’t want it to be easy,” Okada said. “However, if I had the time to repay the debt, I would break one or two more arms and win. I hope we can do it at the right time.”
For now, fans will have to wait and see whether Danielson and Okada will face off again.
