Eric Young is back home with his family in IMPACT Wrestling.
Young made a surprise return to the promotion at IMPACT Slammiversary, where he was revealed as Scott D’Amore’s mystery partner for a tag team match against Bully Ray and Deaner. D’Amore and Young then defeated the duo in a hard-fought match.
In a post-match promo, D’Amore and Young discussed their victory. D’Amore highlighted the way the IMPACT locker room helps each other no matter where they are.
“I’ll tell you what. I thought these days were long since over, but Bully Ray, you pulled me back in, and I’ll be honest, right now I’m a little glad that you did,” D’Amore said. “It’s been a long time coming. This goes back to last year. Bully, I told you I wanted you to come here to teach this locker room a lesson. [Offered you] a redemption story. But what happens when you’re obsessed and you only care about yourself?
“This company, this locker room, is a team, it’s a group. We support each other. That’s why, when one of us is in trouble, it doesn’t matter where we are, even the great beyond. We come back and support each other.”
Young then stated that it only took one call for him to know that he had to be there to help D’Amore. He stated that IMPACT is family, and Bully Ray learned that the hard way.
“One call. One call is what it took to know that I had to be in this country, in this building, standing beside this man,” Young said. “We’ve had our differences. That’s no secret. But this is family. This place is family. Bully, you learned the hard way. Deaner, you’re gonna continue to learn the hard way. Team Canada forever.”
D’Amore and Young bumped fists, and the IMPACT president welcomed the veteran home.
