WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is ready to take on all challengers, but he named one familiar foe as an opponent he’d like to face.
Rollins won the title by defeating AJ Styles at WWE Night of Champions, and he has defended the gold multiple times since then. With WWE SummerSlam just a few weeks away, fans are already buzzing about Rollins’ potential match at the show.
Speaking with Jordan Mendoza of USA TODAY Sports at the 2023 ESPY Awards, Rollins was asked who he wants to defend the title against. He noted that the roster is filled with talent, and he wants “them all.” However, he named Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Matt Riddle as some specific matchups. He also pointed to a rematch with Cody Rhodes as an outcome he’d be interested in.
“I would love for Cody Rhodes come try to take it from me,” Rollins said. “If he can survive Brock Lesnar, I would love for him to try to. I’m better than I’ve ever been; he don’t stand a chance.”
Rollins and Rhodes clashed in a trilogy of matches after Cody returned to WWE in 2023. Rhodes beat Rollins at WWE WrestleMania 39, WWE WrestleMania Backlash, and Hell in a Cell. “The American Nightmare” is seemingly set to face Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam, so fans will have to wait and see whether they will cross paths again.
Rhodes recently commented on Rollins and noted that they could become friends at some point. Click here to see what he had to say.
