Luchadores have a new prize to fight for in the Legends of Lucha Libre Championship.
Masked Republic has created a new title belt called the Legends of Lucha Libre Championship. The first champion will be crowned this fall and promotions from around the world will be able to host title matches sanctioned by Masked Republic.
More details about the inaugural title match will be announced at the September 9th Viva La Lucha event at Agua Caliente Casino in Cathedral City, California. This event, the seventh one hosted by Masked Republic, will feature Dr. Wagner Jr., his fast rising son Galeno del Mal, AEW & AAA star Komander, WWE veteran Lince Dorado and AAA’s Rey Horus.
The Legends of Lucha Libre Championship was designed by Masked Republic and master belt maker James Brennan. The title belt contains many unique features including “Mexican green peridot gemstones, custom Aztec inspired grommets with center crystals, a raised center mask and etchings of both Chuwen, the Mayan god of creation and symbol for destiny, and Cipactli, the Aztec day of new beginnings, honor, reward and recognition all on 24 karat gold dual plates.”
Fans can get their first look at the championship design in person at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 20-22, at the Masked Republic and Headlocked booth #1901. On Friday, July 21, Masked Republic will also launch a new website where replicas of the championship will be on sale in adult, child and mini replica sizes.
