The post-WWE future of Ronda Rousey has been a hot topic of discussion lately.
As Ronda Rousey’s “hard out” date approaches with WWE, many fans and pundits have already begun speculating about where she may land next. While some believe Rousey may take a step back from sports, others think “The Baddest Woman On The Planet” may opt to return to her old stomping grounds in the UFC.
Rumors of Rousey eyeing a UFC comeback were then intensified on Wednesday afternoon. “I’ve been hearing Ronda is coming back,” UFC fighter Chelsea Chandler said during a press conference. “I’ve heard she’s coming back at 145. So, you never know. … If I got out there and put on the performance I plan on putting (on), I’ll welcome her to 145. I think it would be a great fight. It has been a long time for her and things change, people get better, and I think people are on to her one-trick-pony armbar. Money talks, and she would bring eyes to the sport again. I feel like her time in WWE is starting to go down, so I’d like to see it.”
While Ronda Rousey has yet to publicly disclose her post-WWE plans, it appears that recent rumors of a UFC return are just that — rumors. On the heels of Chelsea Chandler’s comments, sports journalist Ariel Helwani provided some clarification. “Ronda Rousey is not considering a UFC comeback, I’m told. No truth to the rumors started yesterday,” Helwani tweeted.
