Michael Cole says The Bloodline storyline is cinema.
The rivalry between Roman Reigns and The Usos continues to heat up, and the story dates back to the beginning of “The Tribal Chief” persona in 2020. Veteran WWE commentator Michael Cole previously stated that The Bloodline storyline is worthy of an Emmy, and he recently doubled down on that claim.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Cole discussed the storyline and emphasized that it should be nominated for an Emmy award.
“You have a story like The Bloodline, which for three years, and I’ve said this on a number of occasions, should be nominated for an Emmy award,” Cole said. “Roman Reigns should be your Best Actor. Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, The Usos, Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman, all these guys should be nominated.
McAfee noted the members of The Bloodline and the other performers are not actors, so they should be nominated for an ESPY. Cole responded by noting that WWE stars could potentially win either award, given the unique nature of sports entertainment. He then stated that the match between The Usos and Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at WWE Money in the Bank was cinema.
“You make an argument that we could win an ESPY or we could win an Emmy award because what our guys do is so unique to our world,” Cole said. “Not only are they tremendous athletes, and in my estimation, the best athletes on the planet because they can do things that so many others can’t. But on top of that, they’re actors. You have to be an actor. If you watch what Roman Reigns and company did in that tag match in London, it was cinema. It really was. These guys are tremendous athletes who put their bodies on the line every week, but they’re putting together an unbelievable story.”

On the July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown, The Bloodline storyline continued with a heated segment that ran over 30 minutes, and it ended with Reigns and Sikoa attacking Jimmy Uso. Later in the show, Jey took the fight to the duo and challenged Reigns to a match.
