Baron Corbin is leaving his past behind.
The former King of the Ring winner has been competing on WWE NXT in recent weeks. He unsuccessfully challenged Carmelo Hayed for the NXT Championship on the June 27 episode of NXT, and this setback apparently motivated Corbin to take a drastic step.
In a video on the July 4 episode of WWE NXT, Corbin commented on his loss. He noted that he has everything he could want in life, other than the reputation he seeks. Corbin made it clear that he aims to be feared and respected. He stated that he wants everyone to ask who’s next for him.
Corbin then stated that he couldn’t live in the past, so he had to kill it. He then burned symbols that represented the previous stages of his career, including King Corbin, Constable Corbin, and Happy Corbin. Baron concluded his message by saying, “There’s no going back. It’s no more gimmicks, no nonsense, no bulls—.”
