Tony Khan: AEW Battle Of The Belts Will Continue, I Want AEW Collision To Be Distinct

Tony Khan confirms AEW Battle of the Belts will continue and discusses his aim to have a distinct show in AEW Collision.

In 2022, All Elite Wrestling started holding quarterly Battle of the Belts television specials. Following the announcement that AEW’s third television show, AEW Collision, would premiere on June 17, it was unclear what the future held for Battle of the Belts.

Speaking with John Pollock and Brandon Thurston in an interview for POST Wrestling, Khan was asked about the future of AEW Battle of the Belts following the addition of AEW Collision, and he confirmed that they would continue.

“Yeah, Battle of the Belts will continue, which is great,” Khan said, “As for where the next Battle of the Belts episode will run on TNT, whether it will be a Friday or a Saturday, it’s a great question, and still talking about that, and we’ll have a good answer for you on that soon.”

Khan was also asked whether AEW Collision will draw from the winning formula established with AEW Dynamite. He emphasized that he wants to borrow from what has worked with AEW Dynamite while also creating a distinct show.

“I want to take some of the great things we’ve developed that are part of the working formula, but I also want to create a distinct show with a distinct identity, and I really believe we can do that with Collision and present a great wrestling show every Saturday night, starting this week,” Khan said. “We’re gonna have a great crowd for this first episode, they’re gonna be red-hot, I know, and it’s gonna be a great show. I think there are some advantages to running the show on Saturdays, and I’m looking forward to getting off to a great start and building off it.”
