Roman Reigns will return on the May 12 episode of WWE SmackDown.
As confirmed on the May 5 episode, the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion will appear on Friday night’s show, which will come a few days after the WWE Backlash premium live event. Reigns does not have a match at the show, but he will likely pay close attention to the six-man tag team match between The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and The Usos) and the team of Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Matt Riddle.
Plus, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Bayley and Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL. Bayley and Kai beat the champions in a non-title match on the May 1 episode of WWE RAW. Morgan and Rodriguez made the save when Damage CTRL attacked RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair on the May 5 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Additionally, Cameron Grimes will make his in-ring SmackDown debut when he faces Baron Corbin in a singles match. Corbin confronted Grimes backstage on the May 5 episode to set up the bout.
As previously announced, the SmackDown side of the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament will be featured on the May 12 episode.
The updated card is as follows:
- Roman Reigns returns
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Damage CTRL (Bayley & Dakota Kai)
- SmackDown’s side of WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament
- Cameron Grimes vs. Baron Corbin
WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs on May 12.
