Tommy Fierro has high praise for Dave LaGreca, who he works with in both ISPW and 80s Wrestling Con.
ISPW owner Tommy Fierro recently sat down with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about what it’s been like working with Dave LaGreca of Busted Open Radio, Fierro called him one of the most selfless people he’s ever met in his life.
“He is absolutely one of the most selfless people I’ve ever met in my entire life,” Tommy Fierro said. “So, I’m an avid listener of Busted Open, and I listen to it because I work in the wrestling business. I’m going to have wrestling radio on during the day. I’m not going to be sitting there watching All My Children. So, I have it on, and he’s the host of it, and he’s really, really, really, really talented. I’m not just saying that because he’s my friend. I’m saying it because he’s very, very, very talented, and he always goes out of his way to either mention me or my store or find a way to bring up to ISPW or 80s Wrestling Con.”
“This week on Busted Open, they’re doing an 80s Wrestling Con week all week long where every day they’re having a different wrestler from 80s Wrestling Con to be on there, and I’m going to be on there Friday. So, they do promotion all week long with the number one wrestling radio show in the world because he believes in me and he likes me. It’s very humbling; it’s very humbling.
“And I’m honored to have him a big part of my stuff because, trust me, I seen a lot of people that are at my events over the last year or so that are wearing those Busted Open t-shirts. So, I know that he’s helping me move the needle up, and he’s an invaluable asset to me and for me.”
When it was mentioned that giving the 80s wrestlers a spotlight on Busted Open this week is a pretty big opportunity, Fierro agreed and doesn’t want to take anything like this for granted.
“Absolutely, especially on a big stage like that. I’m an avid listener, like I said, of Busted Open. So just hearing Nikita on there today was super cool because that’s a rare name. So it was cool to hear him on there,” Tommy Fierro said. “Now, on Thursday, he’s going to have on Magnum T.A. So that’s going to be really cool as well.
“Listening to Magnum on there and these two guys that, up here, we grew up, WWE guys, WWF kids growing up. So those guys are more down there. So, it’s cool to hear them up here — I mean, it’s broadcasted all around the world, but it’s broadcast here in New York, but it’s cool, man.
“I’m excited that I’m able to get opportunities like that through the relationships I’ve made being involved in the wrestling business throughout all these years, man. Trust me; I don’t think any of them for granted whatsoever. And Dave, at the top of the mountain for me, as far as people that I respect, that really, really go out of their way to help me in this business.”
