AEW CEO Tony Khan comments on the issues between Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker.
Rosa and Baker have had a heated rivalry on-screen, and multiple reports have indicated that there are issues behind the scenes as well. The personal feud has been highlighted in AEW’s reality show, AEW: All Access, and Rosa has discussed the situation on Busted Open Radio. Rosa is currently sidelined with an injury; she has not wrestled since August 2022.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Khan was asked about the future of Rosa and Baker in AEW. He made it clear that the company will welcome Rosa back once she’s cleared to compete.
“Well, we’ll have to see. Thunder Rosa is not cleared to return to the ring yet, and when she is, certainly, we’ll welcome her back with open arms in AEW,” Khan said. “It has been an in interesting situation. Some of that stuff I think should stay behind closed doors, but that’s where All Access does give fans a great chance to see what happens behind the scenes.
“So we’ll have some more All Access taking a look at what happens backstage when Thunder Rosa comes back to AEW. I know that the locker room and Thunder Rosa, at times, have had some stuff, so I also think that that should be largely between everyone that was in the room. There is a point of All Access where I have to make a decision, okay, this is as much access as anybody who’s backstage could reasonably get, and so you’ll see me making some tough choices about what we do and don’t show.
Khan also emphasized that some people will never be friends, and while Rosa has tried to make amends, that’s not always possible. He noted that Rosa ad Baker will have an intense rivalry for as long as the two of them are wrestling.
“I do think that, in the future, Thunder Rosa’s a great wrestler, she’s been a great champion in AEW,” Khan said. “I look forward to having her back, and she’s done a lot of the things we would ask on the path to returning and tried to make amends with some people. But there’s some things you just can’t amend. There’s some people that are never gonna get along. There’s some people that are never gonna be friends, and Doctor Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa are not going to ever be friends, and they’re not ever going to get along. So as for what the future with them is, I would say that it’s probably gonna be an intense rivalry for as long as both of them are wrestling. These are not two people that are ever gonna be buddies. But it’s something to follow for sure. Thunder Rosa, we look forward to having her back in the ring.”
