If you were excited about WWE bringing back the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments next month, it appears we have some bad news.
Last month, WWE announced that their upcoming return to Saudi Arabia on May 27 would be a premium live event titled King and Queen of the Ring. But now that event has changed.
WWE announced this evening that the upcoming premium live event in Saudi Arabia will now be Night of Champions, bringing back this premium live event for the first time in eight years.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the decision to change the name came down to a “creative choice,” but not much more information is known at this time.
It’s also not currently known if the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will still occur or if they’ve been canceled altogether.
