Buff Bagwell Plans To Wrestle Again, Wants WWE Hall Of Fame Induction

Buff Bagwell wants to show everybody that he is still “The Stuff.”

SportsKeeda‘s Mac Davis recently spoke with Buff Bagwell about his recent sobriety issues and his future in pro wrestling. Bagwell says he’s now seven months clean and sober, and noted that he has a knee replacement surgery coming up.

“With that said, I’ve got a knee replacement coming up in April 2023. And after that, I’m going to be getting back in the ring again, for sure,” Bagwell stated.

Competing in the ring again might be a more short-term goal for Buff Bagwell compared to another one he has. Bagwell also said that he would really like to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.

“My long-term goal is the Hall Of Fame. I want to be in the WWE Hall Of Fame, which is a logical, reachable, attainable goal. A very hard goal, but still obtainable,” Buff Bagwell said. “And so that’s my hope, but I really want to work again, man. I want to get in the ring again and really go and show people I can do the Buff Bagwell strut, still do the Blockbuster from the second rope or the top, and still be Buff Bagwell in the ring.”

Bagwell said he doesn’t have any particular opponents in mind, he just wants to be around the locker room and the camaraderie again.

Buff Bagwell appeared on the Who The Fook Are These Guys? podcast in December 2021 and claimed he was eligible for the WWE Hall Of Fame before, but he turned the opportunity down.

Bagwell said that he was asked to be part of the nWo’s group induction in 2020. Bagwell said he wanted to be honored for his in-ring accomplishments, not what the group did as a whole.

“No. Sh-t no. Because it wasn’t me that got in with the nWo, that wasn’t me that was getting into the Hall Of Fame. It wasn’t the same. I said, ‘Hey guys, don’t take this wrong, please. I’d rather it be for something that I did, not something that the group did. Even though that’s cool, it really isn’t cool,” Bagwell stated. “It’d be like Brett Favre getting a Hall Of Fame ring for the Green Bay Packers, that ain’t cool. I mean, Brett Favre got a ring because he’s Brett Favre.”

At the time, Bagwell said he didn’t think a WWE Hall Of Fame induction was likely. He noted how Lex Luger was yet to be inducted and said that Lex’s story about coming back from adversity was certainly worthy.
