Tony Khan Reveals New ROH Tag Team Title Belts Will Debut At ROH Supercard Of Honor

A new Ring of Honor title design will debut at ROH Supercard of Honor.

Ahead of ROH Supercard of Honor on Friday, Tony Khan appeared on the Battleground Podcast and revealed that they are retiring the old design for the ROH World Tag Team Championship following Jay Briscoe’s passing. At the time, Jay and Mark Briscoe held the titles, as they beat FTR to win the gold in a Double Dog Collar Match at ROH Final Battle 2022. Khan stated that new a title design will be revealed, and the championships will be up for grabs in a ladder match.

“We were talking about ideas to pay tribute to the late, great Jamin Pugh, Jay Briscoe. So many of us loved Jay Briscoe. He’s beloved in the locker room and there are wrestling fans all over the world that loved him,” Khan said. “We wanted to pay tribute to him in Ring of Honor with something special and of all the ideas I heard, this was by far the best idea. It came from somebody who liked him a lot and wanted to contribute a good idea.

“Mark Briscoe really thought it was a great idea, and that was important to me too,” Khan added. “Mark Briscoe is a co-holder of the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship and having his opinion and having his buy in to this plan made all the difference in the world. So we’re gonna have the Jay Briscoe Reach for the Sky tag team ladder match to determine new champions. It’ll be new belts, we retired the old design.”

Five teams will compete in the “Reach for the Sky” Ladder Match for the new ROH World Tag Team Championship including The Lucha Bros, Top Flight, The Kingdom, Aussie Open, and LIF’s RUSH and Dralistico.

WrestleZone will have complete coverage of Supercard of Honor as it airs on Friday.
