WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair wants to team up with Bad Bunny, and a mixed tag team match with him is on her list of goals.
Bad Bunny made his WWE debut at WWE Royal Rumble 2021, and he frequently appeared on WWE TV on the road to WrestleMania 37. The popular rapper even won the WWE 24/7 Championship before he made his official in-ring debut at the pay-per-view; there, he teamed up with Damian Priest to defeat The Miz and John Morrison. All the while, he was praised for his approach to the business, and his performance at WrestleMania was widely renowned.
Speaking with Chris Vannini of The Athletic, Flair discussed her goals, and she named beating her father’s world title record, winning Money in the Bank, and working with Bad Bunny in a mixed tag team match.
“Well, I can beat my dad’s record for one, to hold the most world titles in the company,” Flair said. (Also) to have a mixed tag match with Bad Bunny, and I’ve never won Money in the Bank.”
Flair went on to praise Bad Bunny, and she called him a student of the game. She highlighted his accomplishments in the wrestling industry and the respect that he has for the business.
“He’s a student of the game,” Flair said. “I hope he (reads) this: I have never asked to take a picture with a celebrity when they’ve come backstage, but I was like, ‘Can I please get a picture with Bad Bunny?’ What he has accomplished within our industry is incredible. It just goes to show how much respect he has for what we do and how, when he puts his mind to something, he goes for it 100 percent. I thought it was really cool.”
Later in the interview, Flair again stated that teaming up with Bad Bunny is something that she wants to do in the future.
Bad Bunny will be the host of WWE WrestleMania Backlash in Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, Flair will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley at WWE WrestleMania 39.
