Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have had a strained relationship for the past couple of months, but they finally reunited on the March 17 episode of WWE SmackDown.
In the show-closing “Kansas City Showdown” segment, Jey Uso confronted Sami Zayn and tore into him for betraying The Bloodline and forcing him to turn on the former “Honorary Uce.” Zayn responded by saying Jey was frustrated that he didn’t get to hit Roman Reigns with the chair first. After a brief brawl, Jimmy Uso came to the ring and helped Jey beat up Zayn. Owens’ music hit, and he cleared the ring of The Usos. In a moment that delighted the live crowd, Owens pulled Zayn in for a hug, and it seemed like they were finally friends again.
Owens and Zayn had been on opposite side of Owens’ feud with The Bloodline for several months. Even after Zayn turned on The Bloodline at WWE Royal Rumble, Owens refused to fight alongside his former friend. He did save Zayn from an attack by The Bloodline after Sami unsuccessfully challenged Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber. His pitches to Owens to fight together fell on deaf ears, but Owens finally listened on Friday after Zayn told Owens he loved him and they’d always be brothers.
