Johnny Gargano is happy to be living his dreams alongside his wife, Candice LeRae, in WWE.
RAW Superstar Johnny Gargano was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio with Dave LaGreca, Mark Henry, and Bully Ray to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about his surprise return to NXT at Roadblock last week, Gargano said while he’s been at the WWE Performance Center a few times since his last NXT appearance, this was the first time he had stepped into an NXT ring in 15 months.
“It’s wild, man; it’s been 15 months since I stepped foot in that ring. I’ve been in the building here and there. I’m not gonna lie,” Johnny Gargano admitted. “When I was in my little sabbatical where I was taking time off, and we were having a baby and whatnot. I did visit the Performance Center a few times, and I did bring the baby there to meet Shawn [Michaels] for the first time about a month or two after he was born.
“So I had been there, but to be back in that ring, to hear that crowd, to get that energy to see the shocked looks on everyone’s faces. It was pretty wild, man. It was an amazing moment and something I’ll always remember.”
Despite his return to NXT, Johnny Wrestling is still pulling double duty with the RAW brand. When asked about being able to travel the road with his wife and fellow RAW Superstar Candice LeRae, Gargano spoke about being able to travel with their son when one of them doesn’t have a match.
“It is amazing now to be able to travel together and share these experiences with my wife, Candice. And we’re both living our dream,” Johnny Gargano said. “We’re both traveling town to town, picking up the rental cars going and staying in the hotels, and it definitely makes life a whole lot easier when you’re traveling with your significant other.
“We don’t travel with the baby as much as we’d like to just because it’s a little harder, as you guys know. We’ve figured out a system. If I have a match on RAW and she doesn’t, we can bring the baby. If she has a match on RAW and I don’t, we can bring the baby. We can kind of switch handing off, but if we both have matches on RAW, we can’t bring the baby. There’s not gonna be any time to do anything with that little guy running around. But yeah, it’s been an amazing journey, man.”
