QT Marshall is back, and Powerhouse Hobbs is a champion.
In the main event of the March 8 episode of AEW Dynamite, Powerhouse Hobbs battled Wardlow for the AEW TNT Championship in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The bout started backstage and eventually made its way to the stage where a returning QT Marshall attacked Wardlow from behind.
Marshall helped Hobbs powerbomb Wardlow off the stage, which kept Wardlow down for the ten-count. As a result, Hobbs won the TNT Championship in a stunning conclusion.
Marshall hasn’t competed in AEW since Dynamite: Winter Is Coming in December when he and The Factory lost a quick trios match to House of Black. In recent weeks, cryptic “QTV” vignettes have aired on AEW programming leading up to his return. Marshall’s shirt had a “QTV” logo on it on Wednesday.
Hobbs’ victory marked his first title win in AEW and ended Wardlow’s second TNT Championship reign. Wardlow previously lost the title to Samoa Joe at AEW Full Gear in a three-way match that included Powerhouse Hobbs. He won the championship back by defeating Samoa Joe at AEW Revolution.
