According to a recent report from Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer, Kofi Kingston suffered a leg injury during his appearance on Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
Currently, no further details are known about the injury, other than the fact that it was to Kingston’s leg and that it happened during the March 3 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. It’s also unknown whether or not the injury will sideline Kingston for the foreseeable future, so fans will have to wait for any clarification from WWE for the time being.
On Friday’s episode of SmackDown, Kingston was involved in a segment in which he and Xavier Woods got into a brawl with Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Karrion Kross, and LA Knight, in a bit where all superstars were looking for a shot at Gunther’s WWE Intercontinental Championship. Following the brawl, a five-way match between Kingston, Sheamus, McIntyre, Knight, and Cross was announced for next week’s episode of SmackDown, with the winner getting a title shot against Gunter at WrestleMania 39.
Due to the injury, however, it’s unclear if Kingston will participate.
