Becky Lynch and Lita have won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Lynch has been feuding with Damage CTRL (Bayley, IYO SKY & Dakota Kai) for months, dating back to the trio’s arrival after her match with RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at WWE SummerSlam 2022. She suffered a separated shoulder in that match, and she was out of action until she joined Belair’s team for the WarGames bout against Damage CTRL at Survivor Series in November. “The Man” scored the winning fall there, and she continued her rivalry with the trio. Lynch faced Bayley in a Steel Cage Match on the February 6 episode of WWE RAW, and the returning Lita helped her fend off Kai and SKY’s interference so she could secure the victory. Lita and Lynch issued a challenge to Kai and SKY to a match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the February 20 episode of WWE RAW.
Lita and Lynch faced the Damage CTRL duo in the main event on the February 27 episode. The numbers game was working in Damage CTRL’s favor due to Bayley’s interference until the return of Trish Stratus changed the equation; she took Bayley out and helped Lita get the three count with the Lita-Sault, dealing a major blow to Damage CTRL in the process.
Kai and SKY were in their second reign as the champions; they beat Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah to win the titles on the September 12 episode of WWE RAW. Alexa Bliss and Asuka dethroned them on the October 31 episode, but Kai and SKY won them back at WWE Crown Jewel 2022.
With the win, both Lynch and Lita won the tag titles for the first time.
