Billy Gunn knows that if you stiff Terry Funk, you should be expecting a receipt sooner rather than later.
“Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn was a recent guest on AEW Unrestricted to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about The New Age Outlaws feud during the Attitude era with Mick Foley and Terry Funk, Gunn tells a hilarious story about accidentally stiffing Funk and getting a receipt for it the next night.
“Terry, probably one of the toughest humans I’ve ever been in the ring with,” Billy Gunn admitted. “Probably one of the funniest moments is I powerbomb him in a dumpster and hit the side of the dumpster and almost tore him in half. And we came in the back, and I felt so bad. Like, I don’t know what happened. It just was one of those things.
“And Terry said, ‘Hey kid, don’t worry, it’s all part of the business.’ But then the very next night, we’re out working, and he hit me so hard. He likes to blame it that he can’t see, but he’ll just do that Terry Funk sell and then out of nowhere, just clocks ya. And you can’t help but just lay there and just start laughing and just go, ‘Okay, there it is.’ I knew something was coming.”
