Alberto El Patron (formerly known as Alberto Del Rio) is returning to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.
On January 17, the promotion held a press conference and announced information for several upcoming shows. AAA also revealed that the Lucha Libre World Cup is coming back on March 19, and the Mexico team has been confirmed; Alberto El Patron will team up with Psycho Clown and El Hijo Del Vikingo.
AAA also announced that three TripleMania events throughout 2023; the shows will be held on April 16 (Monterrey), June 17 (Tijuana), and August 12 (Mexico City). These events will feature the “Guerra de Rivalidades”, where wrestlers will be paired up as opponents at the shows.
The pairings are as follows:
- Alberto El Patron and Pentagon Jr.
- Pagano and Rush
- Sam Adonis and Psycho Clown
- Blue Demon Jr. and DMT Azul

Del Patron was previously arrested and later indicted on one count of aggravated kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault in October 2020, but the charges were dropped and the case was dismissed in 2021 when a witness didn’t appear in court as scheduled.
