Kaun Is Climbing The Ladder To Success

Kaun is climbing to the top of his profession, rung by rung.

During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Kaun spoke about his relationship with Ladder, the sports nutrition brand founded by LeBron James and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Ladder features a roster of names like NFL defensive end Myles Garrett and Trae Turner, who recently signed a major contract with the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team. Kaun said that Ladder saw his AEW match with Adam Cole and reached out to him, noting that it was a humbling experience because they see him as a star they could build around.

“To see those amazing athletes, you have world champions and to see my name as part of that roster, [it’s] very surreal,” Kaun explained. “They saw me after I wrestled Adam Cole and they contacted me and were like, ‘Hey, we think that you have a high ceiling. You’re going to be a big star in professional wrestling in a few years. We want to invest in you.’ For them to take that leap of faith in me and my brand has grown a little bit over the past year, but again, to be a part of this roster of amazing athletes and they see that potential in me, it’s just very humbling. Honestly, I hope to be on the same level as them in terms of championships, fan adulation, social media branding. I hope to get there one day, but it’s been a very cool experience so far.”

Ladder has not only given him the chance to improve his profile, but Kaun has seen plenty of benefits for his health and in-ring work as well.

“It’s been very helpful. I was reading up on some stuff and one thing I noticed with Ladder, the whey protein specifically, it helps you replenish, recover faster. I rarely ever have muscle soreness, so that’s even after matches. I trained very intensely as well, rarely ever feel fatigued. One thing I noticed about the pre-workout that I really actually enjoyed is, typically the pre-workouts, you take them, you feel kind of like there’s all these little hot spots over your face. You get kind of little chills there, but with Ladder’s pre-workout that doesn’t really kick in at all,” he explained. “You realize how focused you are when you are working out, you’re completely in the zone.

“I’ve noticed that I don’t even pay attention to my phone. I’m just honed in on what I’m doing that day in terms of the lift, and it’s just extremely focused, a great workout. Take some hydration after which again, replenishes the muscles, helps with the fatigue,” Kaun added. “I get like little sample packets for everybody, so I’ve been handing those our professional wrestlers. I’m telling them about the brand with people I get to work with. It’s honestly helped tremendously.”

Kaun and The Embassy won the Ring Of Honor Six-Man Tag Team Championship at Final Battle. The 2022 event had a drastically different mood than the year prior, as ROH had announced the company was going on hiatus to reimagine the company. Now under Tony Khan’s ownership, ROH shows promise and has a feeling of more optimism. Kaun spoke about being on the roster last year compared to today, noting that The Embassy is excited about the future.

“It’s been pretty interesting. Last year, of course, uncertainty, a pretty emotional day, too. But I went into Final Battle last year with a plan already. I knew AEW was going to be in Garland a couple of days later. I was in contact with people in the company, so I had my plan in place. Then I have an opportunity with Andrade, a couple of Dark matches, Adam Cole, Kazarian. Then for Tony [Khan] to buy the company —  I got signed back in February and then for them to buy the company like a month or so after that, like, ‘Oh, that’s cool. Hopefully all my friends get their jobs back’ or ‘what does that mean? What is the rebrand going to be?’

“And then one year later, from Final Battle to this Final Battle, I’m back. I win my championship back, I’m a two-time Ring of Honor Six-Man Champion. [Tony Khan] announced the deal with Honor Club. I’m excited to see what the future holds. We’re talking about The Embassy. We definitely have eyes on the trio championships in AEW,” Kaun said. “Any six-man [team], step up in Ring of Honor and see if they can bring it.”
