Kenny Omega: No One Can Talk About AEW All Out Incident, I’d Encourage People To Let It Go

Kenny Omega encourages people to move on from “Brawl Out” and says no one can talk about it.

After AEW All Out, CM Punk made some heated comments about Omega and the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) at the post-show media scrum. His remarks reportedly led to a backstage confrontation that turned into what has been described as a “melee”, and everyone involved was subsequently suspended. Punk remains absent from AEW programming, but Omega and the Young Bucks returned at AEW Full Gear on November 19.

When asked about the AEW All Out altercation during interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Omega encouraged people to move on because there are things no one can talk about. He stated that there is no information to be released about the incident. In a general sense, the former AEW World Champion emphasized that he wants the best for professional wrestling.

“There are things no one can talk about, so I’d encourage people to let it go,” said Omega. “It doesn’t change that we want a team effort in AEW. I don’t even mean implicitly myself and my opponent. It also means the referee, the fans, the people who set up the ring, everyone–even a technical error can ruin the memory of a match. I can refer back to the exploding barbed wire death match. So I encourage people to move away from it because there is no information to be released. Though I cannot talk about it, I do want the fans to know I still want the best for pro wrestling.”

Omega then shifted gears and noted that seeing tragedies like the passing of Jason David Frank puts everything in perspective. He made it clear that fans can boo him, the Young Bucks, or Punk, but at the end of the day, they’ll all people who are trying to share their art with the world.

“The day after the pay-per-view, I was absolutely devastated by the loss of Jason David Frank,” Omega said. “He’s one of my childhood heroes. That evening, there was a mass shooting at an LGBTQ club where five people died. It’s absolutely terrible. After such tragedy, it puts everything in perspective. This isn’t Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks against CM Punk. It is people trying to show off their craft. You can boo Kenny Omega, or the Young Bucks, or CM Punk, but I hope people don’t forget we’re human beings struggling to show our art.”

Punk’s future with AEW remains unclear; a previous report stated that the two sides were exploring a contract buyout.
