Colby Corino would love to run it back one more time.
During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Colby Corino spoke about teaming with Allison Danger, a women’s wrestling legend that just happens to be his aunt. The pair recently teamed up at Colby’s Painted Black event in October and the event marked Danger’s first match in more than nine years.
Danger previously spoke with WrestleZone and said that she only took the match at Colby’s request, and didn’t plan on doing another one. Now, Colby says he’s grateful he got the opportunity to share the ring with her after it didn’t look likely.
“It was amazing to share that time with my aunt because when she retired, I never thought she would get back in the ring. It didn’t look good medically for her when she quit nine years ago. I was like, ‘Man, I’m never gonna have the opportunity there to be in the ring with her.’ She didn’t want to at first when I first brought the idea up for the Painted Black event, she did not want to do it. But I bugged her enough that eventually she just did it to shut me up. I think it turned out very well. It seemed like she had a lot of fun, and I don’t want to speak for her or anything, but hopefully this isn’t the last time you see her in a wrestling ring because she did great, and she had a lot of fun.”
Asked about perhaps getting her to compete in another match, Colby said he has one in mind.
“I would love to team up with her again, but maybe not just as a tag team, but maybe as a six-person tag with my father too. Maybe we can extend that to eight with my uncle, Ares, too, but I think he’s going to be a little harder to get in the ring. He’s a little bit more stubborn than the rest of us. I think he’s out of pro wrestling for now. But the six-man tag, that’s off the table right now… maybe only slightly off the table.”
Allison Danger & Colby Corino defeated Brandon & Kasey Kirk at SHP Colby Corino’s Painted Black on October 27. Check out our full interview with Colby Corino at the top of this post.
