Becky Lynch is creating her own iteration of the Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection.
As previously reported, “Big Time Bex” will appear in the upcoming Season 3 premiere of Young Rock. There, Lynch will portray the legendary singer, Cyndi Lauper. Depicting the life of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Young Rock will air the season 3 premiere on Friday, November 4th on NBC at 8:30 pm EST, with an episode entitled “The People Need You.” The official episode description reads:
“After losing the 2032 election, Dwayne Johnson is ready to withdraw from political life when he gets an unexpected call; in 1985, Rocky learns there are consequences to crossing Vince; in 1997, Dwayne finds fans hate him even when he’s a winner.”
The Rock recently unveiled the first look of Becky Lynch on Instagram, as she undertakes the role of Cyndi Lauper. Additionally, the former WWE Champion revealed he “was right there for Becky’s audition” and was “very impressed at her high-level commitment as an actor.” Overall, The Rock said “can’t wait” for Lynch’s Young Rock debut to air.
The former RAW Women’s Champion has been out of in-ring action since suffering a seperated shoulder injury. Her last match came at SummerSlam on July 30th, where she faced “The EST” Bianca Belair for the title.
Lynch has some previous experience in the acting realm, notable appearing on Vikings and Billions, as well as The Marine 6: Close Quarters and Rumble. Earlier this year, Lynch expressed her hope to track down the writers who composed a film script she stumbled upon. According to Lynch, the story detailed a female boxer from Ireland.
