AEW World Trios Title Match Announced For AEW Full Gear

The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson) are coming back.

On the November 16 episode of AEW Dynamite, Death Triangle (PAC, Rey Fenix, and Penta El Zero Miedo) defeated Top Flight (Darius Martin and Dante Martin) to retain the AEW World Trios Championship. After the match, PAC noted that the champions have seen the “Delete The Elite” vignettes and heard the rumors. He challenged any individuals who think they can make their triumphant returns to face them at Full Gear. The video screen then showcased a match graphic that confirmed hat Omega and the Young Bucks will challenge for the titles at AEW Full Gear.

Omega and the Jackson brothers had been absent since the aftermath of the AEW All Out pay-per-view. At the post-show media scrum, AEW World Champion CM Punk took shots at the company’s EVPs, leading to a reported altercation between the two sides. The confrontation turned into what has been called a “melee” where Ace Steel allegedly bit Omega and threw a chair that hit Matt in the face. Everyone involved was subsequently suspended, and Punk got surgery for an injury he suffered during the main event match against Jon Moxley.

The AEW World Championship and the AEW World Trios Championship were subsequently vacated, and Death Triangle won the vacant Trios Titles by beating Best Friends and Orange Cassidy on the following episode of AEW Dynamite. In recent weeks, “Delete The Elite” vignettes have teased the return of Omega and the Bucks; the clips have showed the three men seemingly getting removed from AEW history.
