The preview, courtesy of NJPW’s official website, is as follows:
1st match: Ari Daivari vs Kevin Knight
Action will kick off this week with Kevin Knight facing Ari Daivari one on one. Ever since his trust fund kicked in, Daivari has been on a spending spree to pick up the best for his faction in AEW. With Knight rising through the ranks on STRONG, might the Trustbusters find a new member tonight? Or will Knight have more pride than that?
2nd Match: Mascara Dorada & Blake Christian vs Mistico & Alex Zayne
An immense tag team match will see a pair of rivalries from both sides of the US/Mexican border in the ring. Mistico has a long history with mascara Dorada in CMLL, and are reunited here for the first time in several years. Meanwhile Blake Christian and Alex Zayne’s battles across the US indies and in NJPW STRONG are well documented, and with the Sauce currently on tour in Japan, while Christian has been invited by Hiromu Takahashi and El Desperado to do the same, ‘All Heart’ will be doing everything he can to steal the show as well.
Main event: Tomohiro Ishii vs Tom Lawlor
A clash of the Toms in our main event sees the first singles meeting for Tomohiro Ishii and Tom Lawlor. This is also a clash of contrasting G1 Climaxes, Lawlor’s debut G1 seeing him to a strong 3-3 campaign that included a near win over Kazuchika Okada, while Ishii’s 2-4 record left him with a lot of questions to ask of himself. Will this singles match see Lawlor get back on STRONG Openweight Championship track, and leave the Stone Pitbull with more self doubt, or can Ishii reset on his road to the end of the year in impactful form?
