NJPW’s Tanga Loa To Miss The Rest Of 2022 Following MCL Surgery

Tanga Loa has been out of action in recent months, and he won’t wrestle again for the rest of the year.

Loa, who has been featured in New Japan Pro-Wrestling as one of the Guerrillas of Destiny, hasn’t competed since NJPW on May 14.

On the newest edition of the Tama’s Island podcast, Loa’s brother Tama Tonga discussed his injury and stated that he’ll be out for the rest of the year.

“He’s been injured, tore his MCL abs he had surgery a couple months ago. So he’ll be out for the rest of the year, but he’s making progress. He isn’t able to run yet, but he’s able to walk and do some stuff. But just the running part is the hardest part right now. He’s doing well, he’s moving forward. Looking forward to having him come back,” Tonga said. (H/t Fightful)

Meanwhile, Tonga has continued to gain momentum in the singles division. He will challenge Jay White for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Declaration of Power on
October 10.
