MJF names Stokely Hathaway and Ethan Page as two of the most underrated talents in the wrestling business today.
“The Salt of the Earth” is one of AEW’s top stars. After he was entirely absent for a number of weeks, he recently returned to the promotion at AEW All Out, and he has since regained his status as one of the promotion’s most buzzworthy stars. He has formed The Firm, a stable on retainer that’s led by Hathaway, someone that MJF goes way back with. The faction also features Page, Lee Moriarty, the Gunn Club, and W. Morrissey.
Speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, MJF was asked to name the most underrated guy in the wrestling business. In response, he pointed to Hathaway and Page.
“Either Ethan Page or Stokely Hathaway,” MJF said. “I think people understand Stokely Hathaway is a good linguistic expositionist, I’m not using the p-word. But I don’t think they understand to what degree. Stokely has the capability, the potential, the intelligence to puppeteer a crowd at ease. Ethan Page is, quite frankly, that guy’s just a star. He just oozes charisma.
“He comes through the curtain, you have no choice but to stare. I see people, they almost break their necks turning around when his music hits. I think he’s gonna be maj, so I would say those two names. That’s precisely why he and Stokely picked Ethan Page for The Firm.”
