Chris Jericho shocked the world during AEW Dynamite’s Grand Slam episode, taking down Claudio Castagnoli to become the new ROH World Champion.
During the match, which began with a handshake between the two, it was Jericho that looked to be on the ropes early on. From the start, it seemed as if Castagnoli would be able to walk away with a win, especially after hitting a Ricola Bomb and then swinging Jericho around for a bit, but Jericho continued to kick out at every moment.
As the match came to an end, Jericho attempted to hit Castagnoli with his bat, but the champion blocked it, and the referee became distracted with handling that. In the chaos, Jericho landed a vicious kick to the groin of Castagnoli, and proceeded to hit the Judas Effect for the win.
