Luigi Primo Goes Viral, Wants To Make A Living Doing Pizza Wrestling

Luigi Primo can spin pizza dough while he wrestles. What can you do?

Chris Monica, a former pizza chef and delivery driver, is making his mark on the wrestling world with offense unlike anything seen before. On August 25, a clip of Monica, better known as Luigi Primo, went viral on social media as he spun pizza dough in the ring while competing.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Luigi Primo revealed that the clip was actually from a show in April. Posted by Wrestling With Unicorns on Twitter, the minute-long video picked up steam on August 26 and then exploded the next day when Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg commented on it.

Primo’s signature maneuvers are inspired by pizza. He explains, “I start with rolling out the crust, and that’s a body slam or hip toss to get my opponent down. Once my opponent is down, that means the dough is prepared, and then you top the pizza. That’s when you do an elbow drop or senton. Going off the top rope is putting the pizza in the oven, then I finish him with the pizza cutter, which is an RKO.”

Based out of Austin, Texas, Luigi Promo is ready to take his “pizza wrestling” career to new heights. “My initial goal was to be the best pizza wrestler in all of wrestling. Now it’s to make a living doing pizza wrestling. I love wrestling, and I love traveling. I’m open for business.”
