AEW TNT Champion Wardlow wants to make wrestling more mainstream.
“Mr. Mayhem” won the title on the July 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, and he remains one of the brightest stars in AEW. Moving forward, he wants to keep reaching new heights, both for himself and for AEW.
During an appearance on Afternoon Drive on The Fan, the champion was asked to name his goals, and he stated that he wants to be the best wrestler. He also made it clear that he wants to get more eyeballs on the product.
“I didn’t get in this business just to be another wrestler,” said Wardlow. “I want to be the best. I wanna be the biggest, baddest, highest-paid wrestler of all time. I wanna be the one that brings pro wrestling back into more of a mainstream eye. When we were growing up, The Attitude Era and the Monday Night Wars, wrestling was cool. Everybody at school was talking about it. So I’d like to contribute just to get wrestling a little more popular, try to get some more eyes on it. Obviously I want to be the AEW World Champion more than anything.”
