A new trademark filing by Starrcast has raised some eyebrows.
Starrcast LLC has filed to trademark “Southwest Championship Wrestling”. The filing was submitted on August 5.
The filing is as follows:
IC 025. US 022 039. G & S: Bandanas; Hats; Shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts
IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network
The late Joe Blanchard ran Southwest Championship Wrestling, a promotion that was based out of San Antonio, Texas from 1978 through 1985. The company featured stars like Tony Atlas, Kevin Sullivan, The Sheepherders (later known as The Bushwhackers), Tully Blanchard, Terry Funk, Bruiser Brody, and Adrian Adonis.
