Will Mike Tyson‘s next boxing match come from WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley?
Bobby Lashley was the latest guest on Out of Character with Ryan Satin to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked if he still has a desire to compete outside the wrestling ring, Lashley admits that he did and that he was looking into a World Championship Jujitsu tournament.
“Even right now, I’m kind of in that same little crossroads,” Bobby Lashley admitted. “Because I’m looking at guys — like I wanted to go to jujitsu and go to the World Championships, and they were like, well, what are you gonna do? I said I gotta compete against people my own age. Shit, I’ll murder those guys. Those are old men!”
The United States Champion has also dabbled in boxing as of late and at one point had an offer to step into the boxing ring to fight WWE Hall of Famer Mike Tyson.
“Yeah, I got to do it all. I want to do bare knuckles,” Bobby Lashley said. “Every time when I say that to my kids. They’re like, Dad, I’m like, come on, I just want to do one. Just because I’ve been doing a lot of boxing and I was teaching boxing for a while. I was like; I can box, I know how to box. And then I think about six months ago or so. One of the guys came over to me, and he said, Hey, man, would you be interested in fighting Mike Tyson? One of these promotions wants you to fight Mike Tyson. I was like, I would love to fight Mike Tyson; why not? I mean, there’s purely upside to that, with the exception of getting knocked out. But everything else is an upside. It’s Tyson; it’s a respect factor. He’d help me back up and try to wake me up if that were to happen, but if I were to… *makes knockout noise with his fist*.”
When asked about what happened to the fight, Lashley played coy but certainly didn’t dismiss it as something that could happen in the future.
“I don’t know. I don’t know,” Bobby Lashley said. “But some of the guys because Mike Tyson has been putting out little training videos. They’ll send them to me and say sure you want to do this? Damn.”
