Kaun: Returning To ROH Was ‘A Little Weird At First’, I Want To Win The Gold In AEW

Kaun is chasing greatness with All Elite Wrestling, and he’s also back with Ring of Honor, a place where he broke out in a big way.

Kaun landed with AEW earlier this year after ROH went on hiatus. Tony Khan subsequently acquired the latter promotion, and he subsequently signed Kaun, who had a lengthy run as an ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion as a member of Shane Taylor Promotion.

Speaking with PWMania , Kaun discussed his move to AEW and noted that returning to ROH as part of the deal was initially somewhat “weird”, given that his previous history with the company wasn’t acknowledged.

“I signed with AEW, prior to them buying out ROH,” said Kaun. “I was one of the few they wanted to have from the older version of Ring of Honor. I earned my spot in those [AEW] dark matches.

“I left ROH kind of with a sour taste in my mouth because of some of things that went on before the operations changed. I was like cool, that was a stepping stone to get somewhere else. To get signed and get brought back to ROH, with people not really acknowledging that I was there in the first place and that I won a championship and made history there, it was a little weird at first.”

Moving forward, Kaun has his eyes on the prize, as he wants to win the gold in AEW. He specifically named the six-man belts and world title as two of his objectives.

“I’m coming for the six-man tag belts, and eventually, I want to be the AEW Champion,” said Kaun. “I just watched Rush and Mox beat the hell out of each other. I’ve gotten to work with Rush in an eight-man tag match, but after seeing that match, I want him one-on-one. I want another shot at Andrade, as well.”
