WWE SummerSlam Results (7/30/22): Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

WWE United States Championship: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Theory

Theory attacks Lashley with his briefcase during his entrance. Theory temporarily gains the advantage, but Lashley overpowers him. “All Day” rolls out of the ring and seemingly tries to leave. Lashley stops him and dodges the briefcase when Theory throws it at him. Theory dodges a Spear, but he only prolongs the inevitable, as Lashley makes him tap out to the Hurt Lock.

Winner and still WWE United States Champion: Bobby Lashley

No Disqualification: The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and Damian Priest) (with Rhea Ripley) vs. Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio

The two teams take the fight to each other, and both Dominik and Rey dive onto their opponents outside of the ring. The Judgment Day duo isolates Dominik. Priest grounds the young star and overpowers him. Balor tags in and maintains the advantage. Rey tags in and clears house. He gets a tag and hits Priest with it. The veteran uses the chair like a slide and drops onto Balor on the outside. Priest blasts Rey with a kick to the face. Rey and Dominik take control and go for a double 619, but Ripley stops the,. She interferes and helps her stablemates regain the advantage. Priest drops Rey with the South of Heaven. Suddenly, the lights go down, and a flaming staircase appears on the stage. Edge charges to the ring and drops Priest and Balor with Spears. The Mysterios hit the 619 for the win.

Winners: Rey and Dominik Mysterio

Happy Corbin vs. Pat McAfee

A men’s choir sings “Bum Ass Corbin” during Corbin’s entrance and proceeds to sing McAfee to the ring. The bell rings, and the broadcaster takes the fight to his foe. He superkicks him and maintains the advantage. McAfee does a flip off the top rope and poses. The taunt costs him as Corbin levels him. The former King of the Ring takes control and slams Corbin into the barricade. Back in the ring, Corbin continues to dominate. He hits a Deep Six and throws McAfee onto the broadcast table. Corbin shoves Cole when the latter says his parents would be ashamed of him. McAfee leaps up to the top and drops Corbin with a superplex.  He dodges a charging Corbin, sending him shoulder-first into the ring post. The broadcaster climbs to the top rope and dives onto Corbin. He dives off the top, but Corbin dodges him. Corbin goes for the Deep Six, but McAfee escapes. Corbin accidentally collides with the referee, and with the official down, McAfee kicks him below the belt and hits a sunset flip/destroyer-like maneuver for the win.

Winner: Pat McAfee

In-Ring Segment: Drew McIntyre

McIntyre comes to the stage, fresh off of earning a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on SmackDown. He says he loves Nashville, and he says it’s the home of the new number one contender. McIntyre shifts his focus to the main event tonight and vows to “beat that ass” when he faces the champion at Clash at the Castle.

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship: The Usos (c) vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) – Special Guest Referee: Jeff Jarrett

Jimmy Uso and Dawkins start the bout. Jey quickly tags in as the champions take control. The brothers work together to isolate Dawkins and keep him grounded. Jimmy hits a running hip strike, but Dawkins rallies and tags Ford who makes the hot tag. Ford gains the upper hand with standing blockbuster. The Usos briefly take the advantage, but Ford dumps them to the outside, and Dawkins dives onto them. Jimmy kicks Dawkins, and the Street Profits double-team Jimmy for a two count. Jimmy gets a two count with a diving splash on Dawkins. They hit the double splash, but Ford breaks up the pin. Dawkins dodges a kick, and Jarrett catches it. He sends Jimmy into Dawkins, who drops him with a spinebuster. Ford hits the frog splash for a near fall. Ford gets upset with Jarrett, and the Usos superkick him.

The champions slam Ford into the barricade and superkick Dawkins. Back in the ring, they superkick him and hit the One-D for the win.

Winner and still WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions: The Usos

After the match, The Usos celebrate, and the Street Profits are visibly upset.

Riddle comes to the ring and says that he might not be cleared to compete, but Randy Orton taught him not to take “crap” from anybody, so he calls Seth “Freakin” Rollins, his scheduled opponent, to the ring. Rollins evades security officials, and the two men brawl down the ramp. The fight spills into the ring, and Rollins floors Riddle with a Stomp.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship: Liv Morgan vs. Ronda Rousey

Rousey comes out of the gates with a flurry of offense and she dominates the opening minutes. Morgan briefly locks in a submission hold and slams the challenger with a crucifix driver for a two count. Rousey traps the champion in an arm-bar, but Morgan reaches the ropes. “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” locks the arm-bar in again, but Morgan gets out of it. The medical official checks on Morgan, who’s favoring her arm. She keeps fighting, but Rousey puts her in the arm-bar again. Morgan turns it into a pin attempt, and she taps out while the official counts the pin.

Winner and still WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion: Liv Morgan

After the match, Rousey is furious. She attacks Morgan and slams the referee before she locks the official in an arm-bar. Officials come down to deescalate the situation.

Glen Jacobs comes to the ring and announces the attendance of SummerSlam.

Last Man Standing Match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar

Before the match, Reigns told Nashville to acknowledge him. Lesnar caught Reigns off-guard by putting on a cowboy hat and riding a tractor to the ring. Standing on the tractor, he grabs a microphone and introduces himself as a “country boy” who’s going to beat Reigns.

Lesnar dives off the tractor and takes the fight to Reigns. Outside of the ring, he suplexes the champion and slams him into the steel steps. “The Beast Incarnate” sends Reigns flying with another suplex and slams him into the barricade. Lesnar suplexes Reigns again. The champion slams Lesnar into a lighting structure. The challenger sends him spine-first into the steel. Lesnar takes Reigns to Suplex City with a German suplex on the floor. He sets up a table, and Heyman distracts him, allowing Reigns to fire up and slam “The Beast” through a table. Reigns blasts Lesnar with the steel steps and slams him through a table. Reigns nails Lesnar with a two Superman Punches. Reigns floors Lesnar with a Spear. “The Beast Incarnate” sends Reigns crashing to the floor.

He slams him onto the remnants of a table. Lesnar gets back in the tractor, puts Reigns in the loader and dumps him into the ring. Lesnar drops Reigns with a few German suplexes. “The Beast Incarnate” hits the F5, but Reigns beats the count. Reigns counters another F5 and locks in the guillotine. Lesnar escapes and locks in a guillotine of his own. He chokes the champion out and releases the hold. Reigns barely gets back to his feet again. Lesnar gets back in the tractor and moves the ring, while Reigns is still in it, with the tractor. He lifts the ring, sending Reigns tumbling to the floor.

The Usos attack Lesnar, but he takes them out. Heyman gives Lesnar the titles and tells him to leave Reigns alone. Lesnar slams Heyman through the broadcast table with an F5. Reigns drops him with a Spear.

Theory runs to the ring, prepared to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, but Lesnar levels him. The Usos attack Lesnar again, and Reigns floors him with a Spear. Lesnar gets back to his feet, and Reigns repeatedly hits him with the Money in the Bank case. He still won’t stay down, and Reigns blasts him with a title. Lesnar gets up again, and Reigns hits him with the other title. Reigns and the Usos bury Lesnar under the pieces of the broadcast table, so he can’t answer the count.
